Watercolor: Beautiful Holiday Poinsettias!

Cheerful red poinsettias are a sign of the upcoming holiday! Their wide graceful leaves are the perfect way to practice brush strokes and moderate the magical balance of water and paint on our brushes. We’ll sketch poinsettia leaves and then mix pinks and reds in our palettes to lend depth to our painting. Then we’ll use a wet-in-wet technique, dropping paint into wet leaves and tilting our paint boards to pool the paint and create movement and texture in the leaves. Materials are provided.
