Woven Whisk Brooms
Join North Carolina artist, Emileigh Zola for an afternoon of broomcraft, presence, and meaningful connection. This is more than a handcrafts classit is an intentional space to slow down, work with your hands, and engage the deeper rhythms of making.
In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn to work with broomcorn (sorghum) to craft a beautiful and functional woven whisk broom. You’ll plait a handle with broomcorn stems and learn to stitch the broom flat. Emileigh will guide you step by step through the technique, sharing skills that can be carried into future broom-making. Herbs/flowers will be available to stitch in to enhance your broom with more beauty!
Moderate hand strength is needed for this craft and use of the feet will be necessary.
