Celebrate the Maryland Science Center’s mission at the 47th annual Solstice fundraiser gala!

Each year, on the Saturday closest to the Summer Solstice, friends of the Science Center gather to recognize the important work that takes place each and every day at the Science Center and out in the community across the entire State of Maryland.

Funds raised by Solstice support free admission for all Maryland school children and their teachers who visit as part of a field trip during the upcoming school year. Solstice also funds our outreach programs—Traveling Science Program, Ready Set Go Science, and Family Science and Family Engineering Nights.

Dress to impress and celebrate with science demonstrations, music, food and drink!

Discover something new as our staff welcomes you with exciting, hands-on science demonstrations.
Dance the night away to a live music performed by Tidewater Drive on the atrium stage and Rob Macy spinning records on the rooftop patio.
Mingle and explore in our three levels of interactive exhibits.
Enjoy multiple open-bars and food stations, featuring our signature cocktail and delicious bites.

Solstice is for ages 21+ only.

The Maryland Science Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community that shares our love of science by creating connections through innovative programs, authentic experiences, and advocacy for our mission. All proceeds from Solstice help underwrite the free admission policy and help ensure that future generations of students will continue to visit for free on a field trip.
