Marcela Fuentes is a Pushcart Prize-winning fiction writer and essayist. She is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and was the 2016-2017 James C. McCreight Fiction Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Indiana Review, The Rumpus, Texas Highways Magazine, Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, and other journals. Her work has been anthologized in New Stories from the Southwest, Best of the Web and Flash Fiction International. Her story, “The Observable World” was included in the Pushcart Prizes 2023: Best of the Small Presses 2023 Edition. She was born and raised in Del Rio, Texas. Her debut novel MALAS will be out June 4 from Viking Books. Look for her story collection, My Heart Has More Rooms Than a Whorehouse, in 2025.

Shannon Robinson’s debut short story collection, The Ill-Fitting Skin, is winner of the Press 53 Award for Short Fiction. Her writing has appeared in The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, Joyland, Water-Stone Review, Nimrod, failbetter, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in fiction from Washington University in St. Louis, and in 2011 she was the Writer-in-Residence at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Other honors include Nimrod’s Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction, grants from the Elizabeth George Foundation and the Canada Council for the Arts, a Hedgebrook Fellowship, a Sewanee Scholarship, and an Independent Artist Award from the Maryland Arts Council. She teaches in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.

Khaliah Williams is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and received her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her fiction has been published in Hawaii Women’s Journal, Frontier Psychiatrist, and Day One, and her non-fiction at Buzzfeed, American Short Fiction, Salon, and Book Country. Her story “Carnage” is forthcoming in the Hopkins Review. She is a Kimbilio Fellow and an Instructor and Advisory Board member of Writers in Baltimore Schools. Originally from Philadelphia, she lives in Baltimore where she is a College Advisor for Baltimore City Schools. She is currently working on a novel about race, college admissions and independent school culture.
