Great Baltimore Bars in Every Neighborhood

Each of Baltimore's neighborhoods offer unique experiences after dark. With historic notables at every turn, Fell's Point, Canton, Federal Hill and Mount Vernon are well-known for their abundance of bars, pubs, restaurants and cool hangouts. New places have been popping up all over town, too, but there are also classic hangouts favored by locals waiting for you to explore.

Fell's Point

The Fell's Point neighborhood is known for its eclectic shops and hip inhabitants, and you know in a place like that you’ll find bars and taverns with a homey, local feel. Check out Max’s Taphouse, which boasts Maryland’s largest selection of draughts as well as 1,200 types of bottled beer. If you love soccer, Slainte Irish Pub is the place to go to catch your favorite team on the big screen. And for those who love high energy, Bond Street Social turns into a lively dance party at night.

Inner Harbor

The charming Pratt Street Ale House is home to the award-winning Oliver Breweries, Baltimore's oldest craft brewery. Whether you’re looking for a great happy hour or nightlife spot, a place to enjoy delicious food or your new favorite sports bar to watch the game, Pratt Street Ale House has something for everyone. B&O American Brasserie pioneered the craft cocktail trend in Baltimore. Their extensive drink menu is one of the best in the city. Power Plant Live! is just one block from the water and boasts an eclectic collection of restaurants, bars and clubs, including Baltimore's premiere music venue, Rams Head Live!

Harbor East

On the other hand, nearby neighborhood Harbor East is ideal for an elegant night out. The lounge at Wit and Wisdom, A Tavern by Michael Mina offers handcrafted cocktails, a generous wine list and unique happy hour snacks to go along with your drinks. The Elk Room, named one of the best bars in the country in 2018 by Esquire magazine, is a speakeasy-inspired bar for cocktails and small dishes. This hidden gem transports you back in time with its upscale environment and innovative drinks.

Mount Vernon

FLAVOR is an LGBT-owned restaurant and bar that offers handcrafted cocktails. The upstairs lounge is perfect for relaxed conversation with friends or an upbeat night of socializing, depending on the day. The Brewer's Art serves its own brewed beer plus a wide variety of high quality drinks in a transformed rowhome. The historic interior has been preserved to create a stunning yet intimate environment. The bar is also open for late night happy hour on select days.

Federal Hill

Baltimore's historic Federal Hill neighborhood is known for its picturesque streets, amazing views of the Inner Harbor and nightlife that attracts many young crowds. Pub Dog has a great selection of premium house-brewed beers and serves craft pizza until 1:30 a.m., 7 days a week. If you're looking for a more casual atmosphere, head to Little Havana for brunch, lunch or dinner on the water while sipping on mojitos.

Hampden

The Bluebird Cocktail Room is a literary-inspired bar in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood, influenced by common literary themes like decadence, idealized pasts, and frivolous lifestyles. They have developed and re-created classic and signature cocktails with this literary influence. Union Craft Brewing is Baltimore's favorite local craft brewery and tap room. The brewery recently opened a new taproom and beer garden at Union Collective, a converted warehouse that holds a number of local businesses.
