The Basketball Tournament

The semi-finals and finals of the $2 Million, winner-take-all tournament will take place August 1-3

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is an annual 5-on-5 single-elimination basketball tournament. It's a chance for anyone that is older than 18 to live their basketball dreams. This year, 64 teams will be playing for the winner-takes-all prize of $2 million. Semi-finals and finals will be held at Coppin State University in Baltimore August 1 - 3 with NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony as the host. All 63 games will air on ESPN networks, beginning Saturday, July 8.

Meet Baltimore's Team

City of Gods
City of Gods, which is named after a popular clothing shop in Baltimore, is coached by Joe Connelly III, a former player development coach for the Washington Wizards. The team won the Northeast Regional Championship in 2015 and 2016. In both of their appearances in the semifinals, City of Gods fell just short to Overseas Elite. Retired nine-year NBA veteran Etan Thomas joins City of Gods for TBT 2017.

Day of Giving

TBT has partnered with The Finn Group, Baltimore City, community leaders, and corporate partners to create an innovative “Day of Giving” to assist with the eradication of disparities in health and wellness, jobs and entrepreneurship, homelessness, and community transformation in Baltimore. TBT’s goal is to impact thousands of Baltimore residents with solutions and opportunities to move Baltimore forward.
