Forty Baltimore City schools and education-based nonprofit organizations received more than 1,000 computers from OneBaltimore, in partnership with President Obama's My Brother's Keeper, Microsoft, elected officials, and local business and community leaders. This donation is an example of OneBaltimore's mission to bridge the digital divide by increasing technology access, skill development and organizational capacity for the community.
Many Baltimore students lack access to technology and the Internet, and in today's world that access is crucial to being successful and able to compete on a global level. Other resource partners in Baltimore in the tech industry have also stepped forward to offer assistance for this cause, including Betamore, Code in the Schools, Digital Harbor Foundation and Digit All Systems.
