On Tuesday, the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts along with What Works Studio announced additional details about Light City Baltimore including the Light City U innovation conferences and the 50 attractions and performances along the BGE Light Art Walk.
Light City Baltimore is a festival of light, music and innovation taking place from Monday, March 28, to Sunday, April 3, 2016. The hours are Monday-Sunday 7-11 p.m. with an extended hour Friday and Saturday to midnight.
The BGE Light Art Walk features 28 lighted art installations on the Inner Harbor Promenade, floating in the harbor waters and projected on area buildings. Many of those installations are interactive, such as Voyage by Aether & Hemera of England, a rainbow colored flotilla of lighted "paper" boats in the harbor.
On the Inner Harbor's West Shore Park, Club Light City comes alive with free outdoor concerts by nationally renowned musicians including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Robert DeLong and Dan Deacon. The Harbor East Stage showcases an eclectic mix of bands including Telesma, futuristic; Wordsmith, hip-hop; Red Sammy, rock/folk; and Symphony Number One, classical/chamber music.
