Cherry Hill

Rowing and Recreation

The centerpiece of 150 acres of parkland in Middle Branch Park along the Patapsco River, the Baltimore Rowing and Water Resource Center has been an oasis of outdoor recreation since 1987. Home to Baltimore Community Rowing and BCRP’s Outdoor Recreation Program, the center also features fishing piers, boat ramps, picnic areas and wetlands. Just a few minutes south of the Inner Harbor, you get a clear view of the downtown skyline from the deck or aboard a water craft.

Baltimore’s Cookie

Baltimoreans are passionate about their Berger Cookies, which are a must-eat when visiting Charm City. The bakery plant in Cherry Hill has been in operation—and using the same cookie recipe—since the 1800s. The two main components of a Berger cookie are a white-cakelike cookie with a layer of chocolate fudge that leaves an indentation when you bite into it. With local food wizards incorporating these chewy delights into ice cream and pies and other dishes, and an almost ubiquitous availability at local grocery stores and convenience marts, it’s easy to taste one of Baltimore’s most beloved confections.
